Pharmacologist, doctor of medical sciences, professor. Born January 5, 1950 in the village. Lopatin, Lviv region in the family of teachers. He studied and graduated from high school in the city of Dneprodzerzhinsk. From 1967 to 1973 - student of the Dnipropetrovsk Medical Institute (DMI). Since 1970 - laboratory assistant, and after graduating from DMI - since 1973. Assistant of the Department of Pharmacology DMI. In 1979 he defended his thesis “On Comparative Reactivity of the Cortex of the Hemispheres and Spinal Centers in Anesthesia”, and in 1989 - the doctoral dissertation “Neuropharmacological Analysis of General Anesthesia Mechanisms and the Experimental Justification for Increasing Its Efficiency”. From 1990 to 2017 - Professor, Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology of the State Medical Academy. Since 2005, he has been the vice-rector for scientific and medical work of the Academy. Mamchur V.I. - author of the neurotransmitter theory of general anesthesia (anesthesia, neuroleptanalgesia, neuroleptanesthesia) and regional anesthesia (epidural, cerebrospinal) (1987 - 1993). In recent years, 15 patents of Ukraine and 2 patents of the Russian Federation for new medicines (Indotril, Thioaspecard, Carbatril, Cardiotril, Tramaverine, Borizol) were obtained and about 70 medicines were created and reproduced in collaboration with the scientific and production departments of the pharmaceutical companies of Ukraine (Codefemol, Vitagren, Neuromidin, Noofen, entropy, Teraflex, bromantanum, L-lysine aescinate, Suzakrin, Sedafit, etc.). The main areas of scientific research are the pharmacology of analgesia (from local anesthetics, surgical anesthetics in non-opioid analgesics) and neurometabolic cerebroprotectors under experimental equivalents - pain of various origins, epilepsy, parkinsonism, depression, neurotic and psychotic disorders, neuropsychopathies caused by systemic (diabetes mellitus) and organ (hypoxia, cerebral ischemia, intoxication of the heart muscle, liver) pathology; participation in the development and study of new, first of all, domestic drugs. He is the author of more than 450 scientific articles, 7 monographs, co-author of textbooks and scientific and methodological manuals, methodological recommendations for preclinical study of medicines of the State Pharmacological Center (HFC) of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, National Formulary of Medicines of Ukraine. He prepared five doctors and 24 candidates of medical and pharmaceutical sciences, supervises the preparation of two more doctoral and three candidate dissertations. Mamchur V. I. - member of the Presidium of the State Pharmacological Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Association of Pharmacologists of Ukraine, Pharmacology PC, member of the dissertation council for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations, scientific and expert council of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine (2001-2008, 2011-2017).
